Hello Stampede Family!
The UIL Solo and Ensemble contest is approaching very quickly on Saturday, February 8th at Temple HS. We will NOT be providing transportation to this contest since it is essentially in our backyard. This way, students can come to Temple HS, play their solo/ensemble, and then leave. Students will not be stuck waiting around. The fee you are responsible for to your piano accompanist for your solo is $50.00, and it is due to your accompanist at your first rehearsal with them. This $50 fee covers 2 rehearsals and the performance on Feb. 8.
Sectionals have started up for all 3 bands. Sectionals will last up until our UIL concert and sightreading contest in April. Please make sure you are attending sectionals as required. Here is each band’s sectional schedule:
Wind Ensemble
Mondays: Flutes/Oboes & Tubas - 8:00-9:00 am; Saxophones/Bass Clarinet/Bassoon 8:30-9:30 am (Fridays will be makeup days for school holidays on Mondays)
Tuesdays: Trombones/Euphoniums - 8:30-9:30 am
Wednesdays: Trumpets 8:00-9:00am; Clarinets 8:30-9:30 am
Thursdays: French Horns 8:30-9:30 am
Wind Symphony - 7:45-8:30 am
