Director of Bands

Bobby Yerigan is in his 26th year of teaching and 4th year as the director of bands at Lake Belton High School. Prior to Lake Belton High School, Mr. Yerigan has spent time at Belton ISD, Godley ISD, Tolar ISD, Hico ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Cooper ISD, and Winters ISD.  Mr. Yerigan’s marching and concert ensembles have consistently received Superior division ratings at UIL and other various marching and concert contests. Along with his incredible staff, the Lake Belton Stampede went to the Class 4A Texas UIL State Marching Contest as a 1st year program with only Freshmen and Sophomores, and then again as a 2nd year program with Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors only, placing 7th in the Finals.  As the director of the Tolar High School Marching Band, he led the band to back to back State Marching Band Contest Finals appearances in 2015 and 2017, placing 6th and 10th place respectively in Class 2A and Class 3A.  Mr. Yerigan grew up in Fort Worth, TX and attended Crowley High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. Mr. Yerigan is an avid deer hunter, and in his spare time he likes to be outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping. He enjoys watching college football and college baseball, and has even made a couple of trips to Omaha, Nebraska to see the College World Series.


Mr. Yerigan is married to his lovely wife Krystal, who is the head volleyball coach at Belton High School.  Mr. Yerigan has two children, Trent (22) and Tara (19). Trent is currently a Firefighter/EMT in Mineral Wells, TX, and Tara is working towards a nursing degree at Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX.

Associate Director of Bands/Percussion Director

Mr. Craig George is going into his 19th year as a music educator, with the last three being in Belton ISD. Throughout the school day, he oversees the percussion students at LBMS, NBMS, and LBHS.  During the past two years as an Assistant Band Director, the LBHS Marching Band has attended two Texas State Marching Championships, has earned two Sweepstakes, and has earned a spot in the Outstanding Performance Series Finals.  Before coming to Lake Belton High School, Mr. George was the Director of Bands at C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron, TX for five years.  During this time, his bands competed in three State Marching Finals, were consistent Sweepstakes Award winners, runner-up for the TMEA Honor Band, and two-time winners of the Outstanding Performance Series.  Mr. George served as the Junior High Band Director at Cameron Junior High, as well as the district percussion instructor, from 2007-2015. During his time as assistant to the high school, the Yoe Band won the TMEA Honor Band, appeared in two State Marching Championships, and were winners of the Outstanding Performance Series.  Mr. George received his Undergraduate Degree in Music Education from Miami University (OH) and his Master's in Music Performance Degree from the University of Hawaii. Mr. George has taught students ranging in grades from sixth grade-collegiate level for the past 17 years and has performed with many different ensembles in many different states. Along with his passion for educating students, Mr. George enjoys reading, playing golf, and spending time with his wife, Kristen, and their two children, Paxton and Tatum.

Assistant Band Director

Jacob Guerrero is in his 4th year of teaching at Lake Belton. His responsibilities include assisting The Stampede Marching Band, directing the Wind Symphony, and running the cluster’s jazz band program. Mr. G’s jazz bands have won several awards including the Texas Jazz Educators Association Jazz Grant, UT Arlington Sweepstakes Champions, 1st Place at the Tarleton Jazz Festival, and Superior Ratings at the Temple Jazz Fest.

 

Mr. Guerrero earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at the University of North Texas. While at UNT, he performed in various ensembles, such as the Funky Fresh Basketball Band, Wind Ensemble, Green Brigade Marching Band, Volleyball Band, and a multitude of lab bands.  In 2018, Jacob earned an alto saxophone spot in the prestigious 1898 Jazz Orchestra, a group that was hand picked by the world-renowned jazz trombonist Andy Martin.

 

Mr. G's professional affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Texas Music Educators Association,the Texas Jazz Educators Association, and the Jazz Education Network.

Assistant Band Director

Grant Shane joined the Stampede staff in the Summer/Fall of 2022, and is in his 6th year of teaching.  Prior to Lake Belton, Mr. Shane taught at Clifton ISD for 3 years, and Merkel ISD for a year.  Mr. Shane assisted in taking the Clifton High School Band to the Class 3A State Marching Band contest in 2019, and Area Champions in 2020.  Mr. Shane has also led the Middle School Varsity Concert Band, and has received the UIL Sweepstakes award for the last 2 years.  

Mr. Shane grew up and graduated from Clifton.  He attended Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX and received his Bachelors Degree in Music Education.  While at Tarleton, Mr. Shane was involved in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, The Sound and the Fury Marching Band, Foul Play Basketball Band, and Texan Thunder Volleyball Band.  He was also nominated and accepted in to the Southwest Conference Collegiate Band Directors National Association Ensemble, and performed under the direction of world famous composer, Frank Ticheli.  Through college, Mr. Shane was an active member od Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Kappa Kappa Psi.

In his free time, Mr. Shane enjoys watching basketball and football, and plays disc golf.  Mr. Shane is married to his lovely wife, Destiny, who teaches PE at Clifton Elementary.

Originally from Lampasas, TX, Mr. Arbolay discovered his love for color guard and the marching activity at age 14. From 2003 to 2009, he attended Lampasas MS and HS performing with the marching band, color guard, concert band. In 2008, Mr. Arbolay made the jump during his junior year to Drum Corps with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. He spent several years performing with Identity Winterguard, in the Independent Open class. He served as Guard Captain in ’12 and ’13. He has also marched with the DCI Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012. He finished his performance career with the inaugural season of Invictus World Guard in 2017.
At the age of 16, Jessie began to choreograph for nearby winterguard programs throughout central Texas.  Following HS, he gained his BFA in Dance (Performance and Choreography) from Texas State University in San Marcos TX. During this time, he served as designer, choreographer and/or director for a number of programs. Some of the programs he has worked with include:
Steele HS, Rouse HS, Liberty Hill HS, Westwood HS, Akins HS, McNeil HS, Lampasas HS, Shoemaker HS, Jarell HS, and ATX Winterguard.
Jessie currently resides in Central Texas, where he is in his 4th year as Colorguard Director at Lake Belton HS. He also designs and choreographs for Belton HS and is also a freelance artist.
